anthropologie

i love it. it's so weird and twisted and bizarre and intriguing.

and therein lies the beauty of it all.

it isnt adulterous to unite the sperm and egg of a man and woman who are married but not to each other.
it is acceptable to commodify child birth and children.

Kay and Michael are married and want to have a child. Michael's sperm fertilizes Kay's egg, and the fertilized egg is then placed in Rachel, Michael's sister, for gestation. Is this incest?

Flora and her first husband had 5 children. She later on remarried to a younger man and wanted to bear him a child. Unable to do so naturally, she asks her daughter from her first marriage to provide her eggs to be united with Flora's second husband's sperm. The fertilization process was successful and they harvested 45 fertilized eggs. Who is the mother? Flora is at the same time the child's mother and grandmother, while Flora's daughter is both the child's sister and mother. What happens when Flora passes away, and there are all these fertilized eggs sitting in the incubator?

If a lesbian couple has a child born by (of course) one of the partners, and the couple decides to split up, can the other "mother" claim custody of the child?

In attempt to create ties to both lesbian partners, some of the methods they use to achieve conception include:
- taking the egg from one partner and gestating it in the other
- using the sperm from one partner's brother, or other male relative
- the other partner taking part in the insemination process

And, if a male donates his sperm to many people and remains anonymous, what happens when two of his "children" get married?
