wednesdays

today:

breakfast of champions! woohoo.. never fails to make my day

took a nap in clemons.. its the best place for nap, quiet, airconditioning and comfy chairs

the ed school was flooded.. girls' toilet overflowed. EWCH. smelt so bad

this guy who talks unneccessarily during anthro lecture said 'what is a blackberry'

i went up to the prof and said 'im quite lost in class', and all he basically said to me was 'don't worry that's ok, you'll be fine'

had tennis! i suck SO bad but it was fun

my victoria's secret stuff came in the mail! woohoo! it was squashed into my tiny little hole of a mailbox tho.. gee..

i persuaded ning to go get icecream with me (been having the cravings since monday), but it rained just as we were about to leave.. DANG

my roommate, jeanette, and i, practised making sultry faces by copying those in the vs catalogue haha

she wants to buy thigh high boots, and i said i'll buy her the kinky dominatrix lingerie if she'd parade in the lingerie AND boots

i pretended to be a second year just to get free food

i tried my luck and called mickey to ask him if he wanted to go to harris teeter with me, and he did! so i got a ride and bought lots of food that i didn't really need

it rained, and it is still raining, and that means i can go to bed comfortably for once without having to put up with the unbearable HEAT

major overhaul in my schedule.

initially it was no comm classes, now i feel like doing 4 comm classes. but im going to stick to anthropology and photography.

i dropped e-commerce and took up another management class. now my mondays starts at 8am and end at 745... ouch. but the rest of the days are short so that's pretty sweet. and the reason why i could do that is...

i got out of scubadiving. i'm chicken shit for it, but i did it, and i can't regret it or whatsoever. so instead, i'm doing tennis, and that means i have class on fridays. but maybe also i'll be nice and brown after this semester =D

i'm also joining salsa and outdoors club (in addition to SSA, i dropped out of ballroom exco hAH), and getting a job. the only position i have snagged an interview for so far is a silly call helper thing where im supposed to call alumni to bug them for donations, and i hate doing that but it's the best paying job available. so far anyway. interview's on thursday, we'll see how that goes.

i was updating facebook earlier on today (you see, im never actually doing my readings), so i posted pictures of shanghai and tagged them. there was a josh west on the trip, and also a josh weiss in my block last year. i did remember thinking to myself, better not tag the wrong person. moments later, josh weiss leaves a comment and says: this isnt me shuEn. oopS! big big blooper. i tried to salvage the situation by replying: well, you would have wanted to be in shanghai cos it was a blast!

sigh, silly silly me ;P

like i havent said it enough, but i'll say it once more on the record... i love my new blog skin! haha.. and i did take the picture with my crappy olympus digicam too. =D don't mind me.

did up my resume and sent it out to some departments, but still no news about a job. i've decided that if i get a job that pays decently, i will get a car. woohoo. such a pain to not be able to go to just walmart or something. let's see how that goes.

the weather's been so unbearably hot. it's perhaps about the same temp as singapore, just lower humidity, but i feel it so much more because there is no airconditioning! not in my room anyway. sometimes i just don't know what to do with myself in this heat. well, on friday, mich had a pool party and i sat in the sun for a couple of hours to brown myself just slightly. felt good, and i do like not looking too pasty. =) im trying to be a good christian this year, so i turned down an invitation to go tubing because it clashed with service. tubing is when you sit in a tyre of sorts and float down the river and get a wedgie cos the water is rushing by your bottom so fast, or so my friend says. hehe. so instead of merry making in the charlottesville waters, i went to trinity bright and early in the morning, lunch at newcomb with bad tasting soy milk, a short nap, an hour at the library to do my readings (my, oh my!) and then a trip to the bookstore. pretty uneventful sunday. i might head over to cecil's place for some homemade curry chicken and mee goreng later on though *drool*

school officially officially starts tomorrow, with lessons going at full swing! ooh im nervous *shivers*

a happy second day of school.

blogging about what happens each and everyday kinda makes me feel like i'm in primary school or something. but today was a good (hardworking) day! =)

got into my negotiation class. it fulfills my marketing concentration, so i'm good to go. it seems really hard though, i'm perhaps one of the worst negotiators in the world. also, i made a really stupid comment in class, and that was the only thing i said the whole time.

had a break between that class and the next one, so i came back and sorted out my timetable. i've decided to drop 'human nature' *boo* but i'll take it up next sem if im still interested in it. i have 16 credits in my bag and i'm pleased with them all - one marketing class, one management class, e-commerce, photography and everyday life in america. oh plus scubadiving! my time table is pretty good, long mondays n wednesdays, short tuesdays n thursdays, n no class on fri. i've got lots of spare time in between so im hoping i'll use that to do my work instead of bum.

and for the first time, i get to attend IRC's tea and jammin'! *wooooot* we get yummilicious food every thursday for tea, but i could never make it cos of classes. a wonderful spread today - icecream, fruit compote, chocolate biscuits, iced tea and lemonade, cheese and crackers. so happy! =D

finally got down to buying my books after that. spent soooo much money =( but at least i can start being hardworking. haha, u know how ure always so motivated at the beginning of the semester and then it just wanes off after a while? i hope i sustain it this time =X

then, i went to the gym for a little bit. not too intense, but good enough. i like the walk back from mem gym, a slow stroll to cool down, ipod in my ear, somehow more aware of my surroundings.

tidied up my room (still gotta put up my posters n stuff though) and then my roomie and i had a little picnic in our room. she toasted tortillas, i chopped up tomatoes and we had tortilla with babaganoush, hummus, tomatoes and cheese, while sitting on the floor in the middle of our room (i laid out my extra bedsheet). we are planning on getting a fridge, and a little foldable picnic table of sorts. yippee!

the one more thing that will complete my day is a call from stb saying they have wired the money over. deadline is tomorrow, and otherwise i lose all my classes =( *crosses fingers* everything will work out. i guess i like it on the rare occassion that im disciplined and hardworking and complete whatever i've been putting off. hopefully this good start foreshadows a good semester!

[edit: they called! wooot! im not sure what the outcome will be, but we'll see tomorrow.]

first day of school started off with breakfast of champions! oh i miss the wednesday rituals of too-much-for-breakfast bagels, creamcheese, cereal and yoghurt.

i am in trouble because -

my registration is blocked because i have outstanding fees ie i can't sign up for any new classes
i am currently registered for 10 credits, none of which are commerce classes
i just decided to change my concentrations, finally and for sure this time - so it's gonna be marketing and management
the classes i am interested in, and need to get in to, total to 19 credits, waaay to many! and i dont know which one to drop (if i can get them all in the first place)

really really hope things work out themselves real soon, wish me luck!

it's perhaps quite trivial to be blogging about this, but i'm so happy and excited that i will. its my blog anyway!

went to bed, bath and beyond today, and bought some stuff for my room. well, 2 things. one, baskets for my cooking stuff (came in a pack of three) - one for my sauces, pots, plates (things i'd bring to the kitchen), one for the dry stuff (noodles etc.), and one for my fruit (u know how in home decor shows they always display fruit in nice dishes -heh). and i also bought a shoe rack for my 11 pairs of stinky footwear, nearly fainted trying to arrange them on the rack =X haha. not really lah. makes me really happy now that stuff is starting to fall in to place. oh oh oh, and i bought a long stemmed yellow rose that i put by my window sill. hopefully it doesnt topple on me when i sleep.

school starts tomorrow, first class is intro to musical skills! hahaha. but i think im gonna drop it. i'd b ashamed of myself if i went ahead with my current class schedule. unfortunately, i might be concentrating in finance after all. that means 2 finance classes this semester, 1 marketing class, photography, human nature and scuba diving. i guess 3 fun classes are good enough.

im rambling! shut up now.

there's something new amidst all the familiarity. the corridors seemed the same old, but wider. the smells were familiar, but reminded me of a time when everything was foreign and strange. as i unpacked my things from their boxes, i felt as though time had stopped for 3 months (although, how does time stop for a length of time?). the sheets, my yellow and blue plates, my carousel from paris, still the same but not quite, being in a different room.

although unpacking seemed like a neverending chore, i was happy to be doing up my room all over again. new additions this time round - paintings and paper cuts from china, a fan (its ugly and black though but only 7bucks), and maybe a fresh flower every week. also, bought new kitchenware - a hugeass knife (so be careful, don't offend me!) and a frying spatula (so that i dont have to use the semimoldy communal ones, eww). pictures when my room is done!
